POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an "unexplained" fire in Dingwall at the weekend.

The incident happened on Saturday in a Highland Council-owned store near Dingwall Community Centre in Tulloch Street.

Fire crews from Dingwall and Beauly attended the blaze which broke out around 9.30pm.

Nobody was hurt but the building was completely destroyed.

However local amateur dramatic group, Dingwall Players, which uses the building as a store, lost all their props and equipment.

Dingwall Police say the fire is currently being treated as unexplained.

They are urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries, or may have seen anyone in the area at the time of the incident, to come forward.

• Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
