Alness van fire incident prompts police appeal for help

POLICE in Easter Ross are appealing for information about an early hours van fire which it is believed was deliberately started.

The appeal, which was issued this morning, relates to a reported incident on Sunday, August 2.

Police said: "We are appealing for information after a van being on fire around 4am on Sunday, August 2 in the Kirkside area of Alness.

"It is believed that the vehicle was deliberately set on fire."

Anyone with any information regarding the incident tis invited to visit their local police station or call Police Scotland on 101.

Anonymous tip-offs can be made by phoning the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
