Police are appealing for information after the theft of heating oil in Ross-Shire.

A large quantity of oil was stolen from a property in the Cullicudden area, near Balblair, and police are appealing for anyone who has seen a white transit van in the area to come forward.

A police spokeswoman said: "Between 5pm on Sunday April 5 and Monday April 6 at 11am, 1000 litres of heating oil has been stolen from a property located in Cullicudden area near Balblair.

"A white Transit van was seen in the area on a few occasions and is believed to be involved.

"Police Scotland would like to hear from anyone, within the area at that time, that witnessed the incident or know the identity of the perpetrators."

Anyone with information is asked to cntact Dingwall Police station quoting reference number NE 1322/20.
