A TEEN needed hospital treatment for a head injury after he was assaulted on the Black Isle.

Police have appealed for information after the 15-year-old boy was assaulted in Rosemarkie's Manse Brae on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened at around 9.30pm and left the boy with what police described as "a non-life threatening injury to his head which required treatment at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness".

Detective Constable John Beverley said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident. These enquiries are at an early stage and anyone who can help is urged to come forward.

"A small dark-coloured car is believed to have been in the area around that time and we would ask anyone who could help us identify that vehicle or its occupants to come forward as they have information which could assist our enquiries.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference NE1390/19, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
