Police are hunting vandals who smashed up a football clubhouse in Easter Ross.

The suspects damaged doors, electrics and a toilet was completely smashed and flooded during the incident.

The facility in Balintore is used by the Do Soccer Academy and a spokesman said: "Sadly the Balintore football clubhouse has been broken into and smashed up.

"The doors and back toilet were totally smashed and flooded. It has been reported to the police.

"We are trying to provide football facilities for young people in the area and it’s very sad that much-needed funds will now have to be spent on new doors and repair."

A Balintore Hilton Community Council spokesman said they were "saddened and sickened" to see the vandalism and added: "We hope the culprits are found and dealt with. If anyone knows anything about it we would urge you to contact the police."
