THOUGHTS at Ross-shire's largest secondary school are already turning to next year's Christmas Fair after the success of last week's event.

Dingwall Academy's event was well supported by the school community and offered a showcase to scores of local groups and organisations as well as the chance to buy from local businesses in the run-up to Christmas.

Head teacher Karen Cormack said: "Dingwall Academy were able to host its first Christmas Fair since 2019 and the evening was a huge success.

"There was something for everyone, with over 100 stalls showcasing lots of local produce and talent.Food was also available, with tasty festive treats from our Home Economics department, as well as stalls with soup and crepes.

"For the younger visitor there was lots to keep them busy including pre-school activities with much glitter, sand and sparkles! The school STEM leaders organised science-based activities that included the hair-raising Van de Graaff generator. There was, of course, Santa’s Grotto, and Santa was delighted to have the help of some S6 Elves.

"Pupil talent was to the fore with musical entertainment throughout the evening and this was very much enjoyed by the hundreds of visitors who came along. The school would like to say special thanks to the Parent Council for all their work helping to organise the event, and to the S6 Fair Team who were fantastic before, during and after the event.

"There is already talk of the 2024 Fair."
