THE world's strongest man got more than he bargained for when he paid a visit to Innis Mhor care home in Tain.

Last month, Tom Stoltman became the first Scot to win the competition, held in Sacramento, California.

Tom, from Invergordon, was invited to meet residents by manager Jackie Macrae.

His late grandmother was a resident at Innis Mhor.

As Tom posed for pictures of his trophy with residents, he met his match in 88 year old Jessie Teska.

Jackie Macrae said: “She was really funny with him. He was towering over her when she said: ‘You couldn’t handle me, boy,’ and then told him ‘I’ll come to America with you the next time.’ Jessie is game for a laugh. She phoned her grandson on FaceTime to tell him she had a new man!

“What a lovely guy, he was so nice and thanked us for inviting him. He was so modest and had a lovely time meeting the residents and letting them pose for pictures with his trophy. He’s a wonderful ambassador for Scotland.”
