A STRICTLY Inverness contestant is dancing with delight after a fundraising quiz night was a rousing success.

Luke O’Brien (31), from Dingwall, is taking part in this year’s charity dance competition in aid of the Highland Hospice.

And to raise funds he organised a quiz in The Innes bar in Inverness at the weekend.

Roughly 15 teams took part and raised around £850. He said: “I would like to thank the Innes Bar for the quiz night, it was a massive help for our fundraising, and to my family and friends who have supported the event, and everyone who was involved taking part in the quiz night.”

Further fundraising is planned. Luke’s dance partner Jade Robertson is holding a dinner dance and disco party at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness, on Friday night from 7pm. Tickets cost £50 for the evening and a three-course meal, or £20 for just the party. Book tickets by calling Jade on 07976 384615 or email jaderobertson2015@outlook.com.

Everyone is welcome. Tables for 12 will be discounted.

The evening includes traditional tunes from Calum MacPhail and Sean Cousins, with DJ Gary Tuach helping people to party the night away until late.

There will also be a raffle and auction on the evening.

Meanwhile, Luke will be continuing his fundraising with a collection in the Tesco Inshes store in Inverness on Saturday from 1pm to 3pm.
