GLORIOUS sunshine helped ensure the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events across Ross-shire went down a storm.
Dingwall Community Council chairman Jack Shepherd said of the town’s street party: “While we were never sure how much of a response we would get, the turnout was fantastic. Several High Street businesses told us they had a really busy day. The only thing we couldn’t arrange was the weather, but even that came good.”
Toy Story characters proved a hit with kids and the Cromartie car park was busy with the local traders’ stalls.
A stomping set from Rhythmnreel maintained the party vibe while local bars later benefited.
Mr Shepherd said: “It was good to bring some life back into the town and great to see so many Dingwall businesses doing well from it all and the best part was to see so many people out there enjoying themselves again.”
Communities across the county staged their own events with Tarradale Primary welcoming parents in for a Jubilee picnic event and North Kessock staging its own garden party. Alness, Tain, the Seaboard villages and Ullapool all enjoyed celebrating the milestone moment.
