Residents had the chance to say farewell to the brightly decorated Highland Hospice Great Heilan Coos.

They had been displayed throughout the summer across the Highlands, where they formed an art trail.

On Saturday and Sunday they were gathered at Bellfield Park in Inverness so people could say “Ta Ta for Noo Coos”.

Hospice fundraiser Jenna Hayden said: “It was amazing to see hundreds of people over the weekend at Bellfield Park, all coming to see our fantastic coos. We couldn’t have wished for nicer weather and it was incredible to hear how far some people had travelled just to see our herd! Thanks so much to everyone who came along.”

Now, with the trail reaching its end, the coos are being gathered before being auctioned at a special event at Eden Court’s Under Canvas setting on Friday.

Individuals and businesses are invited to attend the special event, and bid on the coos as they go under the hammer.

All auction proceeds will go to support the hospice – providing comfort and support to patients, their families and communities when they need it the most.

Tain coo gets pride of place in the Highland capital

Jenna said: “We would urge as many people as possible to join us in person on Friday, September 2 for refreshments, canapes and live entertainment.

“This will be a fun night and you could leave with a beautiful coo sculpture of your own.”

For anyone who can’t make it in person, online bidding is available and will run until – and during – the event, via Dingwall Mart’s online catalogue.
