CHRISTMAS came a little early in Easter Ross when Santa made an appearance on his sleigh as part of a fundraising boost for kids.

The Santa’s Coming to Town event by Community Spirit Invergordon slid smoothly from Milton towards Saltburn and Invergordon on Saturday.

As well as putting smiles on local faces, it was also a fundraiser for the MFR Cash for Kids drive.

The group said it had been “a fantastic day” with the chill in the air offset by the community response.

A familiar figure was on hand to help out Santa.

It said: “We all enjoyed every minute of it. Despite being a very chilly day we were absolutely amazed at the support we were shown. It was lovely to see all the smiley little faces when they saw him coming on his sleigh. A huge thank you to you, our community, for your continuous support and generosity.”

The total £263.55 raised has been doubled by the group giving a grand total of £527.10 to be donated to MFR Cash for Kids.

They made a special mention to little Belle Morrison who donated a bag of presents towards the collection.
