A "local legend" postie was part of a festive team delivering fun and smiles in a Ross-shire village at the weekend.

Aldie ‘The Post’ Fraser stood in for Santa Claus at the Muir of Ord fun day which was staged in the heart of the village on Saturday.

Muir of Ord Development Trust ran the event which was a real team effort tapping into local talent and showcasing the wares of a number of stallholders.

Children and families were delighted to welcome Santa to the village square as he arrived on his sleigh to the sound of ringing bells and a hearty Ho! Ho! Ho!

Running alongside the sleigh – donated by Dingwall Rotary Club – were two of Santa’s elves and Mrs Claus. The unmistakable man in red brought delight to the faces of children who received chocolate selection boxes kindly donated by the Muir of Ord Co-op.

Event organiser Helena Macleod of Muir of Ord Development Trust praised the artistic talents of Angela Stewart Creative and her son Bailey who decorated Santa’s grotto. She also thanked the many stallholders, volunteers and local residents who fostered the wonderful community spirit in the village with everyone enjoying warm mince pies and mulled wine served by the Muir of Ord Gala Group.
