Posh frocks and stylish hats were a winning combination as Highland businesses backed the return of a charity fundraiser.

Royal Ascot Ladies Day was celebrated at the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness in an all-day event to raise money for Mikeysline which provides mental health and suicide prevention support.

The return of the well-established event followed an enforced break during the years of the coronavirus pandemic and also took place amid the economic crisis.

Despite tough economic times, guests donned their best outfits to enjoy speculating on the racecard as well as enjoying a drinks reception, lunch and an afternoon tea.

Scottish musical sensation Callum Beattie, whose latest album Vandals topped the official Scottish Album Chart in March, entertained guests.

Local businesses supporting the event included Caley Timber, Stagecoach, Compass and Ness Lodges.
