A NEW face has been welcomed aboard the Ross and Cromarty Lord Lieutenancy team following the fond farewell of a former member.

Joanna Macpherson, from Attadale Gardens in Strathcarron, was presented recently with her commission upon joining the team as a Deputy Lieutenant.

Her arrival came after David Lockett, of Knockbain Farm, retired after 33 years of service to the lieutenancy.

The presentations took place at the Coul House Hotel, where members enjoyed a "delicious lunch" and "related and convivial gathering".

Lord Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, Joanie Whiteford, said: "My thanks to Stuart and his team at Coul House Hotel for a delicious lunch for a relaxed and convivial gathering of the Lieutenancy Team.

"I presented new Deputy, Joanna Macpherson from Attadale Gardens, with her commission. She brings with her a wealth of local knowledge and experience, so will be a real asset to the team.

"David Lockett from Knockbain Farm has retired after 33 years of distinguished service to the lieutenancy. I thanked him for his unwavering support and guidance in his role as Vice Lord-Lieutenant, especially when I was first appointed. We wish him a long, healthy, fulfilling and well deserved retirement."
