ALMOST £300 has been raised for the RNLI's Kyle of Lochalsh crew after Kyle Gala Week's fishing competition made a successful return.

Local fishermen and crew from the RNLI teamed up for the popular event, which was held in glorious conditions on Thursday evening.

An RNLI spokesman said: "A great evening was had by everyone who was out in the 9 boats which took part in the fishing competition.

"Thanks to those who took part, those who helped with the BBQ afterwards, and especially to the skippers who volunteered their boats.

"Through the kind donations by everyone we raised £270! Thank you!"
