Thousands of pounds have been raised for RNLI lifesavers in Easter Ross after dozens of golfers hit the fairways for charity.

RNLI Invergordon held its annual RNLI Texas Scramble at Invergordon Golf Course recently – raising more than £2400 on the day.

Twenty golf teams comprising of 80 golfers took to the course, with volunteers and food carts ensuring they were well fed during the contest.

The winners of the day, with a 51.9, were the Bonar Bridge Ardgay Team 1 consisting of Robbie Kinnaird, Jock MacLeod, Arthur Templeton and Geoffrey Robinson. The 'Nearest pin' award was taken by Mark Smith from the Pat Munro Team, and 'Longest Drive' was won by Stuart Thompson from the Invergordon Firefighters Team.

As well as the golf, the day also saw a team of volunteers provide refreshments, and those who finished their round were able to enjoy a barbecue and raffle. The club's '19th hole' was also popular during the day.

Michael MacDonald, volunteer lifeboat press officer and volunteer crew for Invergordon RNLI, said: "We cannot but thank everyone who helped make this day a success and raising a great amount of money for the RNLI.

"This is to all the teams who took part, our amazing crew, and fundraising volunteers and to Val Rhind and her staff at Invergordon Golf Club for allowing the use of the course for the day."
