Dozens of messages and flowers have been placed on Ness Bridge in tribute to Sarah Everard.

It comes after a planned candlelit vigil in Falcon Square was cancelled following others elsewhere in the UK being called off for safety reasons.

Some people still gathered elsewhere in the country after a huge outpouring from women who said the disappearance and death of the 33-year-old struck a profound chord.

The Ness Bridge demonstration was designed to encourage people to be an opportunity to share feelings.

Serving police officer Wayne Couzens has appeared in court charged with the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard. Her remains were found in woodland in Kent.

Messages were previously placed on the same Inverness bridge last summer following the death of George Floyd in America.
