PARENTS and carers of pupils at one of the largest primary schools in Ross-shire were serenaded by youngsters in brisk conditions at an outdoor gathering that got everyone involved in the mood for the festive season.

Hot on the heels of a sustainable Christmas jumper swap – which aimed to make pupils aware of the waste issues that plague the season and flag up fun alternatives to unnecessary purchases and over-consumption – pupils at Dingwall Primary School turned out in force for a sing-along.

The school’s festive event saw pupils, staff, parents and carers join in some musical celebrations in the playground before taking a break for holidays this week.

Head teacher Sara MacAskill said: “It has been so wonderful to see the return of ‘normal’ festivities.

"Hearing the children practice their songs has been wonderful and has reminded us that there is no better place to be than a primary school at Christmas. We were all looking forward to the singalong and would like to thank the Rotary Club for providing and setting up the outdoor stage.”
