Four supporters of a Black Isle-based animal welfare charity are going to paddle on a loch near Glen Affric for 24 hours to raise money.

Rohan Andrews, Shirley Maddocks, Jules Burnard and Haley Brown each have a connection to Munlochy Animal Aid (MAA) and wanted to support the charity.

MAA rehomes and rescues pets in need and between the group they have adopted at least four dogs.

The charity is not able to run the annual summer fete which usually acts as a big fundraiser, so the four supporters wanted to do what they could.

Ms Maddocks works at the charity and said she sees daily the positive work that they do.

She added: "MAA is important for the TLC of all animals great and small, including veterinary treatment, finding loving new homes and for helping people who need support with their pets."

They will take to the waters from August 9-10, staying 24 hours on their canoes and paddle board.

The group have shared water experience between them and are looking forward to the water.

They said they are looking forward to the camaraderie of working together as a team to achieve the challenge.

However, they are not looking forward to trying to keep going for the full time, and Jules added: "Not drifting off as its only a wobble away from a dip when you are on a paddle board!"
