PICTURES: Moonlight Ball in aid of The Archie Foundation raises more than £66,000

This year’s Moonlight Ball in aid of The Archie Foundation was a huge success organisers have confirmed.
The event took place at the MacDonald Drumossie Hotel in Inverness and there were more than 200 people attending.
So far it has raised over £66,000 with Global Energy Group doubling the total amount raised at the auction.
Mary Nimmo, chairwoman of Archie Highland and of of the Highlands and Islands Fundraising Board, said: “Roy MacGregor asked to speak to me privately after the auction raised over £24,000 and I was shocked and delighted when he said his Global Energy Group would double that amount”, she said.
“It’s a magnificent gesture which is greatly appreciated as it helps our work with the sick children and their families at the Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital and also our outreach work throughout the Highlands and Islands.
"Roy agreed a couple of years ago to become one of our Archie Highland Patrons and his superb donation set the seal on a successful 2022 Moonlight Ball. We are so grateful to Roy and GEG Capital.”
She said it had been a "fantastic evening" and added: “The Moonlight Ball is one of my favourite fundraising events of the year.
“It was a truly special night raising an incredible amount of money allowing us to support sick children and their families here in the Highlands and Islands.
“We are so grateful to all who attended and contributed in so many ways.
“I was also delighted to see members of the Highland Children’s Unit enjoy themselves at our ball and make them a part of our Archie gathering.”
The evening was organised by Archie patrons, Kenny Smith of Irn Security, Donald Matheson of D&E Coaches, and Roy MacGregor of GEG Capital.
Entertainment was by local teenager Wee James and Rhythmnreel.
