MUSIC is back on the banks of the River Ness with the return of Under Canvas at Eden Court.
DJ Karawane took to the decks on Saturday as the first act of 2021 for the award-winning venture.
Co-curated by traditional arts organisation Fèis Rois, it will bring live entertainment to the Inverness venue’s front lawn five days a week until September 30.
Among those set to perform during July are traditional duos Mairearad and Anna and Coleman Row plus Inverness-based blues band Blueness and composer, bagpipe and fiddle player Malin Lewis, performing as Malin Makes Music.

Under Canvas was cancelled last year amid Covid-19 restrictions and capacity at the moment is for just 86 lucky ticket holders each night, though hopes are high this will increase as Covid restrictions ease.
A spokeswoman for Eden Court said: “The reaction from audiences and artists on the opening weekend of Under Canvas has been overwhelmingly positive and we were delighted that the first three days of the festival were sold out.
“This continues throughout the week and really demonstrates the enthusiasm and appetite for live performance.”
