A BUSY afternoon's packing for supermarket customers bagged a group of Invergordon pupils £747 towards an eagerly anticipated residential trip they'll be making.

Morrisons in Alness hosted the bag-packing session by pupils at Invergordon Academy feeder primaries who are doing their bit to help fund the Loch Eil trip, which provides a valuable bonding experience for pupils from different schools.

South Lodge head teacher David Hayes-Macleod said: "All the children that volunteered from each of the primary schools did a great job with many of them remembering to put the heavy items to the bottom of the bag and the lighter, perishable materials to the top!

"It was a very successful day and I'd like to say a massive thank you to the Rotary Club of Tain and Easter Ross who organised the event and helped support us for the whole day. Also a huge thank you to Morrisons for allowing us to come along and do the bag packing in the first place; thank you to the parents for allowing their children to come along and participate in this fundraiser; huge thank you to the children themselves for the amazing job that they did and a final thank you to the public for their generosity in supporting the Invergordon schools."
