Volunteers from lifeboat stations in the Highlands joined forces to raise more than £1000 as well as awareness of water safety.

RNLI Inverness City Day, staged in Falcon Square, raised the funds for Kessock, Loch Ness and Invergordon RNLI

The event enabled members of the public to meet with RNLI volunteers and learn more about water safety ahead of the school holidays.

Frances Beveridge, RNLI community manager for North Scotland, said: "The day was a huge success, and we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to come down and meet with our lifesaving volunteers.

"Not only did we raise an incredible amount for the local lifeboat stations, but we also delivered vital water safety information that could help to save lives."
