A Dingwall New Year fun run in aid of a local lifeline charity saw a great turnout of participants.

The Puffin Pool Fun Run, which took place on January 7, was organised by the Ross County Athletics Club to raise funds for the Puffin Pool charity.

Dingwall's Puffin Pool is a much-loved facility, which relies on donations, grants and fundraising, helps people with a range of conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, stroke, cerebral palsy and can also speed up rehabilitation after injuries and operations. It began as an idea by interested clinicians working with arthritis patients in the Highlands.

Beginning at the Puffin Pool premises, runners, walkers and wheelchair users completed the five kilometre route to raise funds for the pool, with some participants even turning up in fancy dress.

The Puffin Pool said on their Facebook page: "We had another successful fun run today, with huge thanks going to Ross County Athletics Club for organising it once more.

"Thank you to everyone that organised, volunteered, took part or just came to watch today's new year dash. Great event to help raise funds for the Puffin Hydrotherapy Pool.

"We had a great turn out, some fancy dress and a lovely time had by all."
