AROUND 100 people took part in a fun fundraiser for Highland Hospice held in an unusual loctation.

Café V8 in Inverness’s Henderson Road hosted the socially distanced in-car entertainment, with around 30 vehicles providing a safe space for participants, included a special prize bingo session organised by Angela MacFarlane, who also supplied most of the prizes on the night.

Café manager David MacDougall said the evening, which involved other fun activities besides bingo, including a prize dancing competition, raised around £1100 for the hospice.

He paid tribute to Ms MacFarlane, a regular customer, for organising the event – just her latest after previous sessions during lockdown helped other good causes.

“For one person it’s a great achievement,” he said. “It’s a lot easier for a group to do it!”

He added: “We were fortunate with the weather – it was great on Saturday night.

“We’ve done six or seven events with her, and I am sure she’s raised about £10,000.”

DJ for the evening was Gary Tuach through whose PA system the all-important bingo numbers were called.
