BIDS were cast for rare and exquisite drams at the weekend in aid of a Highland cancer charity.

More than £3000 were raised by the popular whisky auction at Dingwall and Highland Mart on Friday in aid of Maggie's Highland.

With approximately 100 bottles donated, the event saw whisky enthusiast from around the region bidding for the good cause.

Maggie's Highland centre fundraiser, Andrew Benjamin, said: "We are delighted with having £3000 raised for Maggie's, the event went really well and there was a great atmosphere.

"We can't thank Dingwall Auction Mart enough for their amazing support and Avva Gin, as well as all the people that donated the whisky, their generosity was just amazing from people in our community."

Earlier this autumn, the Mart offered its space for a car booth sale to support the charity.

The same day should have seen a Drag night at Glen Mhor Hotel for a fun event to raise funds for Maggie's , however organisers felt that postponing the date to next summer.

Mr Benjamin said that the event will instead run in June and all the acts expected are still lined up.
