A FESTIVE foundraising event in Dingwall saw more than £2,300 being raised for a local cancer care charity.
People flocked the Dingwall & Highland Mart at the weekend to peruse stalls and get a tasty bite to support Maggie's Highlands.
This is the second initiative in which Dingwall & Highland Marts Limited decided to support the charity, with a whisky auction set to be hosted at the end of November.
Centre Fundraising Manager for Maggie's Highlands, Andrew Benjamin, said: “This is the first time that we organise this type of event, and we were really amazed by the support we had from the community and businesses and the amount we raised in such a short amount of time.
"We can't thank enough Dingwall & Highland Marts Limited for their support. Giving us such a huge space for free meant we were able to channel all the proceedings to Maggie's Highlands.
"We had 45 businesses coming over for the arts and crafts fair, as well as many local food and drinks producers and many attending the car boot sale too.
"In times in which fundraising is really difficult, we are delighted by how well this event went.
"We will definitely be running another event like this one next year, possibly in spring."
Donations for the whisky sale are still very welcome to support Maggie's Highlands vital care activities.
