A LEISURE area precious to generations of folk within Ross-shire's county town was on the receiving end of some much-needed tender loving care thanks to a real team effort.

Pefferside Park in Dingwall was targeted for a litter pick which saw a local business, Dingwall and Seaforth ward councillors and children from the nearby primary school join forces to make a real difference.

Helping to pull the effort together was Dingwall Tesco community champion, Michelle Mackay.

She said: "I led a team of Tesco employees to do a litter pick in Perfferside Park.

"We were joined by local councillors Sean Kennedy and Margaret Paterson.

They were 'tyred' at the end of the session but it was worth the effort.

"Also helping out were Dingwall Primary School's Gaelic P7s.

"We had a great few hours and cleared a lot of rubbish up. Councillor Kennedy did a sterling job clearing the pond as well!

"I ensured all the rubbish was recycled and I took it back to our store to dispose off."
