IF school days really are the best days of your life, this group of former Dingwall Academy pupils should have plenty to reminisce about whenever they get together.

And 70 years on, that was indeed the case when a group of 20 former pupils at the county’s largest secondary school gathered to share memories of what is now often referred to as the Old Academy.

The group was formed in 2019 and recently 10 of them were able to gather at the town’s Tulloch Castle Hotel to relive and share their stories, funny and otherwise, of their days spent in the Old Academy.

The Castle, in the 1950s, was home to the girls from Wester Ross who boarded there during school terms.

Members of the group are now widely scattered, most residing in the United Kingdom but one now living in Australia, another in New Zealand and another in South Africa.
