PICTURES: Cromarty Firth littering near rivers branded 'really disappointing' amid calls to public to take rubbish away

The Cromarty Firth Fishery Board and Trust has urged visitors to the area to pick up after themselves.

Posting pictures of littering, it said: "It is really disappointing to once again see litter discarded around the rivers in the district.

We would urge all those who visit the countryside to consider others as well the environment and to please take your rubbish away with you and dispose of it correctly."

Cromarty Firth Fisheries Trust works with the board to protect and conserve native wild fisheries in the rivers and lochs draining into the Cromarty Firth.

The Cromarty Firth District Salmon Fishery Board is the statutory body responsible for managing salmon and sea trout in the Cromarty Firth area.
