ARTS and crafts from all over Scotland took centre stage at Eden Court last weekend.

Organised by Exclusively Highlands, the Eden Court Christmas fair showcased the work of some excellent Scottish craft makers in a suitably festive setting.

From art, jewellery, textiles and stoneware to baking, cheese and other savoury treats, the fair welcomed thousands of visitors to its stalls between last Friday night and Sunday.

Organiser Isabel Stewart said: “What is growing in popularity is people wanting to meet the person who makes a certain product. Especially at Christmas, people tend to look for something more special and not just a generic gift bought in the commercial shops.

“We had 120 makers at the exhibition this year – we have grown a lot since we started in 2008, when we had just 30.

“Around 50 per cent of our producers come from the Highlands, which is an area with a lot of artistic bent. The other half is divided between Aberdeenshire, the Central Belt and Perthshire.”

For anyone who missed out, the fair is back at the start of December.
