AROUND 600 visitors attended an outdoor market in Easter Ross last weekend with sunshine helping to fuel the feelgood summer vibe.

Tain and District Development Trust (TDDT) has been organising the outdoor events to support local businesses and help increase footfall in the heart of the royal burgh.

The event started life in the town's Rose Garden but has grown and has now extended on to part of its High Street, too.

A total of 25 stallholders attended Saturday's event from as far afield as Inverness and Lybster in Caithness. Interest from Aberdeenshire has been logged for future monthly events.

Dave Macrae of TDDT said: "The weather was good and people reported good sales. We know from our track and trace records that around 600 people attended, including a number of mainly Scottish visitors. There's a demand for it and there's barely a day goes by when we don't get an enquiry from a stallholder. Most of those in the Rose Garden are repeat stallholders."

The next market day is scheduled for Saturday, August 21.
