Loch Shiel image wins Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency photo contest organised by MSP Kate Forbes

A STUNNING photo of a boat on Loch Shiel is the winner in a competition to find the best image from within the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency.
Local MSP Kate Forbes held the contest, inviting budding photographers from the constituency to submit entries on the theme of ‘Made in the Highlands’.
The winning picture – along with two runners-up – will now be framed and showcased in her Scottish Parliament office in Edinburgh.
Over 150 submissions were made, and a final five shortlist was announced last month.
The winner is Ellen Kammerath from Acharacle, and the runners-up were Lukas Bornheim from Fort William and Stuart Lilley from Laggan.
Kate Forbes MSP said: “A huge congratulations to Ellen for winning the competition, as well as to Lukas and Stuart on being runners-up.
“The images were so incredibly stunning that it took much longer than anticipated to pick a winner. The Facebook post with all the images was very popular with hundreds of likes and comments.
“There are a lot of amateur photographers in the Highlands who deserve broader recognition and hopefully this little competition has done that.
“I wish the many entrants every success in their future endeavours, as they continue to take cracking photos of our beautiful surroundings.”
Ellen Kammerath, whose photo entitled 'Misty November Morning on Loch Shiel' won the competition, added: “I am very happy that a picture of the Ardnamurchan peninsula has won the 'Made in the Highlands' photo competition.
“It’s such a wonderful place that deserves more attention.”
Runner-up Stuart Lilley who snapped the Icy Waters near Laggan, said: “I am delighted that my photograph showing the ‘Icy waters of the Spey Reservoir’ has been chosen as one of the runners up.”
