GREEN-fingered Martin Maclennan knows what it takes to get the best out of his sunflowers.

This 10ft-plus whopper grown in Dingwall is even used by some local children to measure themselves against.

His wife Nicola shared the picture and revealed that he feeds them on chicken manure and organic feed.

She said: “Martin has great green fingers which is good as I can’t keep any plant alive, apart from spider plants!

"The sunflower is still producing flowers now.”
