A person was struck by a train on the line between Invergordon and Dingwall last night.

Emergency services were sent to the scene at around 8pm.

Train services on the route were cancelled as the response was ongoing.

ScotRail sent a bus to collect passengers from the affected train.

A spokesman for ScotRail said: "Services through Dingwall and Invergordon will resume first thing [today] as normal, with the exception of the 6.14am Ardgay to Inverness [service] which will start from Invergordon."

The condition of the person is not clear – we'll aim to have more information later today.

British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
