PERFORMING arts fans will get the chance to go "peeking in on the neighbours" again when Cromarty's ever popular Gluren bij de Buren takes place on Sunday.

Now in its seventh year, this year's event will feature 25 performances in 11 different venues over the course of a single afternoon. Everything from classical, trad, folk and blues music to a local comedian will be making an appearance – many in people’s living rooms.

Starting at 12.30pm performances are 30 minutes each and run until 5pm.

Jon Palmer from The Cheese House, is one of the organisers. He said: "How often do you get the chance to actually see inside people’s homes, or be part of an audience squashed up on a sofa listening to live music? It is a real demonstration of the welcome and hospitality you find in a place like Cromarty."

Jon goes on to say: ‘The great thing is that everywhere is within walking distance, so it makes for a very pleasant stroll around the town – with lots of breaks at the various venues to experience truly unique performances. This year we also have the Cycling Without Age tri-shaws available for those who find it harder to get around, so there’s really no excuse not to give it a go."

The event is free, although donations are sought to help cover administrative costs.

The full programme for the afternoon can be viewed here.
