Highland musical favourites Peat & Diesel took time out ahead of their recent Inverness gigs to meet one of their biggest fans.
Dylan Clark, who is 12 years old and a pupil at Lochardil Primary School, had his dreams come true when he met his idols.
He was introduced to their music by his nana, 74-year-old Christine Morgan, who sadly died suddenly and unexpectedly last month, who was originally from Doune Carloway on the Isle of Lewis.
Dylan said: “I remember nana putting on the video for Western Isles in her living room and I loved the music and thought Boydie, Innes and Uilly were so cool and funny. I wish nana could have seen me meeting them.”
He said meeting the band was amazing and added: “I was so excited when mum said where we were going. I love Peat & Diesel even more now – they were so cool and friendly.
“I especially love Boydie, but I was a bit starstruck when he came in because I think he’s so awesome.”
Since first hearing them his passion has gone from strength to strength, and his mum, Wendy Morgan, said: “Dylan has both development delay and autism, which means that when he’s into something it becomes an absolute obsession. He barely talks about anything else.
“He’s doing a school project where he had to choose a topic he loves – and without hesitating he chose Peat & Diesel. It’s due to be completed in March and it’s pretty much done.
“He watches their BBC Alba documentaries on repeat and is constantly searching for band facts on the internet – and listening to their music non-stop. He’s even asked Santa for a drum kit so he can play along.
“The guys kindly made him a wee happy birthday video in September and he was jumping for joy. He has felt that they know him since then.
“Meeting them has been another level of excitement altogether – he will never forget it. The guys are so lovely and down to earth – they made a wee boy’s dreams come true.”
It was organised by the band’s sound man Keith Morrison.
