CAITHNESS, Sutherland and Ross SNP MSP Rob Gibson is to launch an incident sheet for bus users to log problems with operator Stagecoach.

Mr Gibson has decided to take action following a Bus Summit which he organised in Evanton last month.

After the summit Mr Gibson was inundated with further complaints and issues regarding the Stagecoach service across his constituency.

He has now decided to make available incident sheets to those who live along the route so that solutions can be sought from the bus firm.

Mr Gibson said he will pass the findings onto management of Stagecoach as well as the Scottish Transport Commissioner.

"The sheer number of new issues and complaints that I have received following the bus summit is staggering," said Mr Gibson.

"There is certainly customer rage from many people across Ross-shire, Sutherland and Caithness. I hope that the incident sheets will help crystallize what is going wrong for far too many passengers on the buses.

"I hope that people who use the buses will take the time to note any incidents where the bus service fails to meet expectations. I shall pass these findings onto Stagecoach management. The Bus Summit was only the beginning of trying to help make the experience better, this is the next step."

He added: "Following the summit I have approached Joan Aitken, the Scottish Transport Commissioner, and intend to raise with her all the issues in the near future. In the mean time I look forward to further information from the public so that I can make a more rounded case."
