Four scooter enthusiasts are touring the Highlands on vehicles with a combined age of 160 years as part of a fundraising challenge.

Ed Fraser, Alasdair MacDonald, Kenny MacDonald and Kevin Kilgour – all from Inverness – are taking part in the Top Gear-style stunt in aid of Prostate Scotland.

Setting out from the city tomorrow, they will do a loop taking in the Old Man of Storr on Skye and Glenelg before arriving back on Sunday.

With Martin Dyer providing support as he follows in his van, along the way each man will win or lose points based on a number of categories.

Mr Kilgour said: “This will be for the mopeds not riders – and negative points will be awarded for breakdowns.

“The purpose of the event is to have a laugh, lighten the mood, improve mental health in the current times and raise funds for a worthwhile cause.”

The friends will be travelling on a variety of vehicles with engines of 50cc or less – a 1984 Tomos, a 1990 Tomos Golden Bullet, a 1977 Mobylette 40V and a 1973 Honda PC50.

Morag Idan of Prostate Scotland said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Kevin, Kenny, Alasdair, Ed and Martin for their fantastic initiative and efforts in setting up The DREAM Tour challenge. Their tremendous support and fundraising are vital in supporting our work to tackle prostate cancer and disease.”
