People with an outpatient appointment at Raigmore Hospital are being advised it could be replaced by a telephone or video consultation or postponed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
NHS Highland said patients will be informed of any changes by phone or post so should check their usual method of communication.
The measure comes into effect today.
In a statement an NHS Highland spokeswoman said: "The decision to delay or use telephone or video is being made by the clinical team involved in your care.
"Please do not phone the outpatient department or the clinical teams as they will be in contact with you as soon as possible."
