All the best!

IT has been lovely to have your company over the past year and we look forward to being part of your life in 2024, too.

Our goal is to inform and entertain and to reflect the aspirations and concerns of those we serve while offering an unparalleled platform for selling and sourcing local goods and services.

New Year's Day is a time for reflection and fresh starts, the blank page of a story yet to be written.

We've enjoyed broadening our perspective with contributions from a variety of columnists. These include Dingwall-based Karen Anderson who writes frankly and with enthusiasm about the challenges and personal insights a role as a carer for a loved one brings and former Black Isler Kerry Maciver who shares snapshots of life Across the Pond in California.

It has been an exciting and sometimes challenging year of change for those of us producing the Ross-shire Journal as part of the Highland News and Media (HNM) team.

Our digital first strategy means that our website is the first port of call for breaking news stories not only from Ross-shire but across the Highlands, thanks to expert input from our team across the region.

You can browse e-editions not just of the Ross-shire Journal but also the other titles in our stable when you subscribe.

A growing awareness of the value of the unique service provided by the HNM team has seen a steady growth in subscribers for our digital packages which, by any measure, offer superb value for money.

Our e-editions offer an exact replica of the printed newspaper in digital form. I'll confess to having been sceptical about these myself initially but was an early convert to the convenience and ease of browsing minutes after trying them out.

The subscription page answers frequently asked questions and if you prefer talking to someone, seek our Shannon Marvell who does a wonderful job of dealing directly with customers.

You may have seen our twice weekly news briefing, which you can now have sent free of charge to your inbox. It's a concise catch-up of some of the most recent headlines along with a précis of the week's sport, features and pictures to date. It offers a quick taste of what we've been covering for those with busy lifestyles looking to make the most of their time.

Another front page from earlier this year.

We hope you've had a chance to relax, reflect, recharge and spend some time with loved ones over this festive period.

And we look forward to serving you in 2024.

Keep in touch – and Happy New Year!
