Are you an EV user? Have you ever experienced 'charge-rage' in the pursuit of a suitable charging point?

An Invergordon-based company could have the answer as suppliers and installers of the new TeltoCharger.

The new, highly customisable and easy-to-use EV (electric vehicle) charging solution is the marquee product of recently formed and authorized installer representative, Dualline Ltd, trading as Optimal Power – launched in November last year.

Demand for electric car charging points is increasing – especially in the Highlands – and the start-up company believe that their "affordable and reliable" solution can help EV users in the area.

Optimal Power say the new product will be compatible with every electric vehicle and plug-in (PHEV) hybrid – now, and in the future.

Company founder Darius Peveraitis arrived in Scotland from Kaunas, Lithuania in 2004. Along with his wife Ilona and their son, he has lived and worked in the Highlands for the past 19 years.

With several years of experience working as an NDT technician under his belt, he established his own company in 2016.

Last November, he launched Optimal Power as a partner and importer of Teltonika Energy’s TeltoCharge range of high quality EV chargers, manufactured in his home country of Lithuania.

Mr Peveraitis said: "When we decided to form our own company, we asked ourselves, how can we relate our name to our product? I eventually found the name, Optimal Power, and I registered it last year.

"I chose Teltonika Energy as our partner as we knew of their experience in the industry. They have recently opened new manufacturing facilities and have invested a lot of money in the manufacture of trackers, routers and medical devices. They have good people working for them, as developers and designers, and it was an easy decision to make.

"Working with Teltonika Energy, what we at Optimal Power aim to offer is a unique product that combines functionality, premium build quality and smart EV charging features to save our customers time and money."

The new TeltoCharge from Teltonika Energy is designed for private and semi-public use. It can be installed in private homes, courtyards, parking lots, and garages. Also, it can be used for charging a company’s electric fleet or employees’ electric vehicles.

Each of Optimal Power's installers are qualified in all aspects of installation and maintenance of TeltoCharge EV chargers – and the chargers can be installed at home or business.

Mr Peveraitis added: "The TeltoCharge has a robust and reliable build to withstand even the harshest outdoor elements, and is designed for residential and commercial use.

"Our service area covers the entire Scottish Highlands and Islands and our customers can be assured of a professional and safe installation service.

"If anyone is unsure whether or not the TeltoCharge is for them, we will give customers the opportunity to test the equipment on site and gain practical experience before they make a decision. We will answer all your questions on the spot."

As an EVHS approved installer, Optimal Power are also keen to reach customers who may be eligible for a grant to help with installation of a home charging point.

People living in Scotland can get up to £400 towards the cost of buying and installing home charge points for electric vehicles.

Eligibility for an Energy Saving Trust grant extends to rural and remote electric vehicle owners living in a small town or area who own or lease an electric vehicle, or used electric vehicle owners – if you live in Scotland and bought your electric vehicle through the used electric vehicle loan.
