Scotland could lead the way with health care relief
Too many people who live in Scotland are being forced to pay privately for dental and medical treatments.
These people have been paying National Insurance and taxes for many years.
Having read this far, up will jump the First Minister and her loyal followers who will quote: “It’s much worse in England”.
That is irrelevant since the NHS has been devolved since 1 July 1999 and the SNP has controlled Scotland’s devolved legislature since the 2007 election.
Taxation is a devolved issue so Nicola Sturgeon, famous for her: “Where Scotland leads others will follow”utterings could steal a march on Westminster and announce that those forced to go to private doctors and dentists for treatment will be able to claim tax relief at 21 per cent.

Your used stamps could help fund guide dogs for the blind
I am appealing for used postage stamps which help me raise funds which I then donate to the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Recycling used postage stamps is such an easy way to raise money for the charity and I am always in need of all types of postage stamps, including British, foreign and Christmas stamps.
If you are able to help I would be grateful if you could cut the stamps from their envelopes (leaving approx 1cm margin around the stamp) and send them to the address below.

‘Viciously stupid’ rule
Highland Council is now accepting applications for a new short-term let licensing system endorsed by the Scottish Government to help regulate the system. It will affect people who run Airbnbs amongst others.
‘Having looked at the application form for the short-term let license I telephoned an estate agent and will be selling my house. The policy of shutting down the holiday rental market will be the Scottish government’s most successful yet. It will, however, cripple the economy throughout the whole country. It is probably the most viciously stupid legislation I have seen.’
