EASTER Ross father and daughter Andrew and Claire Ross are set to scale the heights for charity by taking part in Blythswood Care’s Ben Nevis Challenge.

The duo will walk up Britain’s highest mountain on Saturday, June 12 with 17 other willing participants.

Claire, who lives in Alness, s a teacher at Invergordon Academy while Andrew is a workshop manager at Metalwork UK and lives in Balintore.

Ms Ross said: "We are thrilled to be able to climb Ben Nevis and raise funds for Blythswood Care, which is a local charity to us in Ross-shire but their work reaches abroad, as well as supporting people locals here. After a year unlike any other, we are looking forward to getting out and scaling the heights of Britain’s highest mountain and hoping for amazing views at the top”

Elma MacKay, Community Fundraising Manager, for Blythswood said “We had to postpone this challenge last year because of the pandemic and are delighted that we are able to go ahead this year. Fundraising has never been so important, with charities hit by the Coronavirus but the need for our services has never been greater. Thank you to all the participants who are making a real difference to people affected by poverty, rejection and isolation both here in the UK and abroad”

There is still time to sign up, visit https://bennevischallenge.eventbrite.co.uk to register. You will receive your welcome pack shortly after.
