An online discussion event today wants to hear about issues women are having during the coronavirus lockdown.

The online event at 3pm today wants women from the Highlands to share their concerns, thoughts and feelings.

An online survey to record ideas will be open until the end of the month.

Mary Beth Graham, events and policy advisor for event organisers the Scottish Women's Convention said: "We're virtually coming to Inverness on Tuesday afternoon with a digital road show on Zoom.

"This event will bring together women from across the Inverness area. We could encourage women to attend the event, and feedback over the month so we can give the Scottish Government our advice on how policy should be shaped post-coronavirus.

"Through the Digital Roadshows, we are looking to hear more about women's experiences of the current coronavirus situation. They can discuss anything – concerns they have over health, finances, childcare, elderly support, shopping and so on. We want to know if they feel women have sufficient support in the area. We are also here to listen to any views, issues or concerns that go beyond the current situation."

Following the event a report will be produced detailing the discussions had.

This will be submitted to politicians and others who have responsibility in key policy areas. Copies will also be sent to those who attended the event.
