One woman was taken to hospital after two cars and a lorry were involved in an accident on the A9 by Carrbridge earlier this morning.

The Inverness-Perth road has now re-opened after the collision at around 7.10am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to a three-vehicle road crash involving two cars and a lorry on the A9 at Carrbridge around 7.10 am.

"The road was closed for a short time, however, it is now open.

"A woman from one of the vehicles has been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness as a precaution.

"Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash."
