A 31-year-old offshore worker was fined £520 and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points after admitting speeding on the A9 at 102mph.

James Morrison of Shoreton Farmhouse, Culbokie, was caught in a police speed trap near Findon, close to the Cromarty Bridge travelling at excessive speed in a 60mph zone on September 3, 2020.

Defence solicitor David Patterson last week told Inverness Sheriff Court his client had been behind a slow moving lorry for some time and the top speed was only momentary.
