A man convicted of historic child abuse has been jailed for 18 months.
Norman Phimister (69) was found guilty after trial of lewd and libidinous practices towards two young girls at an address in Thurso.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard the offences took place between 1999 and 2002.
Phimister, of North Kessock, was said to have heavily groped both girls and exposed himself and encouraged them to touch him.
However, the court heard he was deemed as being at a low risk of re-offending.
Sentence had been deferred following the trial earlier this year for the preparation of reports.
Sheriff Eilidh MacDonald said: "This was a breach of trust. There is no alternative but to impose a custodial sentence."
Phimister will also be on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.
