VISITING Loch Ness could be good for business.
That's if you are an online influencer who wants to make a name for yourself.
That is the advice of a major car dealership who have analysed data to show which posts in Scotland are viewed.
The social media study conducted by car dealership Macklin Motors has revealed the hidden gems of Scotland, and asks people to visit the area to increase the number of" likes" on a social media post.
A spokesman for Macklin Motors said: "Using data from both TikTok and Instagram, we have identified which lochs in mainland Scotland are the top tourist destinations, along with the least visited hidden gems ideal for water sports enthusiasts, anglers, sight seers and hikers.
"The information has been gathered, broken down and mapped out to clearly indicate which locations you should visit depending on your interest. From tourist hotspots to quiet nooks, the heatmap clearly shows the locations to add to your bucket list.
"For those who want to increase their social following and be right on trend, visit the much-loved Loch Ness, Loch Lomond, or Loch Eil, and be sure to tag the locations to increase the number of 'likes' on your social posts.
"Away from the obvious tourist hotspots, however, is the gorgeous Loch Voil, a narrow loch with old stone bridges, and quaint fishing boats, a rarity for popular destinations.
"Another beautiful hidden gem is the Clatteringshaws Loch in the south of Scotland, along with Loch Doon, a picturesque and peaceful destination that visitors often spot rare and stunning osprey."
He continued: "For those who wish to travel further north, we highly recommend visiting Loch Assynt, which is tucked behind the Scottish mountains. It’s remote, peaceful and absolutely stunning."
