No new registered coronavirus cases in Highlands in last 24 hours

THERE have been no new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands in the last 24 hours, new figures have shown.

A total of 317 cases of the virus have been recorded by NHS Highlands.

Some 156 people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland since yesterday, taking the national total to 13,305.

And 1847 people have died across the country since the outbreak began, a rise of 36 on the same point yesterday.

In the Highlands, the number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 increased from nine to 10. And the number of people in intensive care is fewer than five.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded another 34 positive tests, for an overall tally of 1035. Its hospitals were also treating 91 people for the disease, with 10 receiving treatment in intensive care.
